Yang Style 25 Movement Short Form (Part 2): Spring 2010 Session
This class teaches a 25 movement Yang style short form. Fundamental methods of movement and basic T'ai Chi theory are also covered. Each class begins with a short meditation followed by warm up exercises. The rest of the class time is spent learning the short form at the average rate of a couple new movements per class. The first portion of the short form is learned during the first session, and the remainder is learned during the second session (January 30th – April 17th, 2010). The pace of learning is slow and very comfortable for those at the beginning level of T’ai Chi study. Cotton sole Kung Fu shoes (not rubber sole) or leather sole moccasins are recommended for footwear; otherwise socks. Cotton sole Kung Fu shoes will be available the first few classes, at a cost of $15. These shoes are also commercially available (see “Equipment” on this website). Wear loose comfortable clothing, or lycra, or other workout apparel of your choice. Dedicated practice between classes is highly recommended.
